Death of a security officer in Al Hoceima and exceptional promotion by Hammouchi

The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, has announced the granting of an exceptional promotion to the martyr of duty, security officer Hamza Zaam, who served in the anti-gang brigade of the regional security of Al Hoceima.
Zaam died from a gunshot wound sustained during an operation to arrest an individual wanted for serious crimes.
The brigade took part in the operation in Imzouren alongside the Royal Gendarmerie.
The suspect offered violent resistance and used a hunting rifle, fatally wounding Hamza Zaam.
A technician specialized in opening doors was also injured.
Security forces arrested the suspect, aged 25, who was the subject of 20 arrest warrants.
He was placed in custody as part of the judicial investigation supervised by the competent prosecutor's office.
The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances and verify possible links with criminal networks.
