The Ifri Waha neighborhood in the commune of Imzouren (province of Al Hoceima) witnessed a security mobilization on Monday afternoon following an armed clash between police forces and an individual barricaded inside a house.
According to initial reports, the intervention involved exchanges of fire, injuring several police officers, while the suspect was shot as he attempted to flee before being arrested.
The injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
An investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office to determine the circumstances of the incident.
Preliminary data suggest the suspect may be linked to a cocaine trafficking network in the region.
