Police officer killed by gunfire during arrest in Al Hoceima

The General Directorate of National Security announced the death of security officer Hamza Zaam, a member of the anti-gang brigade of the regional security in Al Hoceima, from a gunshot wound during an operation in Imzouren.
Officers were supporting the Royal Gendarmerie to arrest a 25-year-old man wanted in 20 cases of drug trafficking, attempted murder, and forming a criminal gang.
The suspect violently resisted with a hunting rifle, fatally wounding the officer and injuring a technician.
The threat was neutralized and the suspect arrested.
The prosecutor ordered a judicial investigation.
The director general granted an exceptional promotion to the deceased and covered funeral expenses and support for his family.
