The General Directorate of National Security announced on Wednesday, July 29, the creation of two new security units in Nador, on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the Throne Day.
The new structure includes the establishment of a tourist police brigade, tasked with securing tourist areas and supporting activities related to this sector, given the city's growing status as a tourist destination attracting visitors and members of the Moroccan diaspora.
A regional intervention brigade was also created, a specialized unit with trained personnel to handle complex security situations and high-precision interventions.
These measures aim to modernize the security infrastructure, enhance the readiness of police services, and strengthen specialization and rapid response, in line with the city's urban, economic, and tourism growth, thereby supporting local development and encouraging investment.
