New earthquakes south of the Alboran Sea
The region south of the Alboran Sea, between Morocco and Spain, recorded a series of new earthquakes on Tuesday, September 1, according to Spain's National Geographic Institute.
The first quake, magnitude 3.2 on the mbLg scale, occurred in the morning, followed by another of 2.6 in the afternoon.
These quakes follow similar activity on August 30 and 31, with magnitudes ranging from 1.5 to 3.1.
The region is known for its seismic activity due to its tectonic position between the African and Eurasian plates.
However, experts say that the repetition of these quakes does not necessarily mean a stronger earthquake is coming, as it cannot be predicted based on this data alone.
