The Popular Movement party has officially endorsed Malika Houleish, sister of former parliamentarian and former president of Nador municipality, Suleiman Houleish, as head of its regional list for the upcoming legislative elections.
The decision was made within the party about three weeks ago, but its announcement was delayed until internal arrangements were completed.
The party leadership is counting on this endorsement to strengthen the chances of its candidate Mohamed Boudou to win one of the four seats in the Nador constituency, relying on Suleiman Houleish's broad popular base and the sympathy generated by his trajectory after his imprisonment.
Observers believe this decision could give the party an additional electoral boost in the province, especially given the strong competition expected in the upcoming polls.
