The second edition of the National Theater Festival opened Thursday evening at the cultural complex in Nador, organized by the association “Assame Theater Troupe” under the theme “Theater in the Grip of the Digital Revolution,” celebrating the National Theater Day.
The opening ceremony brought together artists, directors, and intellectuals from various Moroccan cities, as well as guests from Arab and European countries.
Festival president Farouk Aznabit stressed the goal of establishing an annual theatrical event in the region and keeping pace with digital transformations, calling on institutions to support it.
The program includes performances, training workshops, and intellectual conferences, and Dr.
Jamil Hamdaoui was honored for his cultural career.
A parade set off from Amghala Square, featuring the Smil Boys troupe, and the plays “Viols 1×2” and “Parloir” were presented.
The festivities continue until May 24.
