Lawyer Hussein El Fahimi, from the Nador bar, issued a strongly worded statement in response to accusations he attributes to the president of the Nador provincial council during its last session.
He claims the president caused significant financial losses by freezing expropriation procedures related to the ring road since 2019, leading to court-ordered compensation.
According to him, the law, particularly Article 37 of the urban planning law, could have avoided these compensations if procedures had been completed on time, citing a cost exceeding 13 million dirhams.
He also accuses the president of having a personal interest in blocking the files and calls for a public confrontation.
This controversy raises questions about the management of expropriations and major projects in the province.
