Owners of leisure and recreational boats on the Mar Chica lagoon have decided to suspend a peaceful sit-in planned outside the Nador provincial headquarters and on the water, at the request of local authorities acting on the governor's instructions.
The association had rejected the administrative ban on night sailing, saying it harmed operators and tourism, and demanded a review.
On the planned day, the head of the first administrative annex conveyed the postponement given the sensitive situation linked to the border with Melilla, and the pacha of Nador promised a broad meeting and dialogue.
The operators agreed, stressing that the province's interest comes first and that the postponement does not mean abandoning their legitimate demands.
