The Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region is preparing for the legislative elections on 23 September to choose its representatives in the House of Representatives.
Candidates are competing for 29 seats in local constituencies across eight provinces and prefectures, plus eight seats in the regional constituency reserved for women.
Parties from both the majority and the opposition have fielded candidates with governing experience, including ministers and national leaders, while others have bet on young people and women.
Key challenges include supporting major structural projects, boosting investment appeal, creating jobs for young people and ensuring territorial fairness between provinces.
