The Nador West Med port project has entered a decisive phase with the arrival at the eastern container terminal of the first three Super Post-Panamax STS quay cranes, designed to handle large container ships.
The delivery marks the shift from completing infrastructure to preparing for actual operations, as installation of electric yard cranes, completion of technical systems and necessary testing continue.
The terminal is operated by West Med Container Terminal under a partnership between Marsa Maroc and the MSC group.
It is expected to be the first component of the port complex to enter commercial operation, with the remaining facilities to follow gradually until 2027.
