West Med Container Terminal, concessionaire of the eastern terminal at Nador West Med port, announced that the facility is now operationally ready to receive and handle its first commercial vessels.
The terminal met the necessary requirements ahead of the initial schedule, after completing development works, installing equipment, putting operating systems and procedures in place and training its teams.
A trial berthing served as a practical test of equipment performance, procedure effectiveness and coordination between teams.
The terminal can handle the world's largest container ships, reinforcing the port's strategic role as a logistics and trade platform in the Mediterranean.
