Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima wali sets 12 points to frame election campaign

The wali of the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and governor of Tanger-Assilah, Younes Tazi, chaired a preparatory meeting with agents of local and regional lists, candidates and provincial party secretaries, in the presence of public prosecutor representatives, ahead of the campaign for the 23 September legislative elections.
The wali set 12 points to frame the campaign, notably respect for electoral legislation, campaign funding rules and legal deadlines, stressing the neutrality of territorial administration and equal treatment of all candidates.
He banned the use of administrative human, financial and logistical resources for any candidate, warning of legal accountability.
He also urged limiting posters to designated sites, respecting rules on public gatherings and running a programme-based campaign free of insults, while protecting voter freedom and setting up regional and provincial cells to receive complaints.
