Solemn Funeral in Al Hoceima for Police Officer Victim of Shooting

The city of Al Hoceima witnessed on Wednesday a solemn funeral for police officer Hamza Zaam, who died from a gunshot wound sustained during a security operation in Imzouren.
Many citizens, as well as security officials and representatives of local authorities, attended the ceremony.
The body was buried in the city cemetery, in an atmosphere of sadness and mourning.
Zaam was wounded during a joint operation between the national security and the Royal Gendarmerie to arrest a suspect in the Imzouren region.
The suspect opened fire on the security forces, seriously wounding Zaam, who succumbed to his injuries.
The General Directorate of National Security expressed its condolences and announced his promotion to a higher rank in recognition of his sacrifice.
