Al Hoceima Prosecutor Confirms Falsehood of Rumors About Arrest
The King's Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Al Hoceima announced that the prosecutor's office confirms the falsehood of information circulating on some social media regarding the arrest of a person wanted for drug trafficking.
He clarified in a statement that the operation took place on September 7, 2026, when judicial police attempted to arrest a dangerous individual wanted for several crimes, including trafficking in hard drugs, forming a criminal gang, organizing illegal immigration, and attempted murder.
During the arrest attempt, the suspect used a hunting rifle, killing a police officer and injuring two gendarmes and a civilian.
The suspect was wounded in the leg by a bullet during the security forces' self-defense.
Gang members tried to intervene with two cars, but police managed to arrest the main suspect and two others.
A firearm and a drone were seized.
The prosecutor said it would continue the investigation and take the necessary legal measures.
