On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Green March, two maternity homes were inaugurated in the commune of Aïn Zahra, Driouch province, under the National Initiative for Human Development.
The project aims to bring health services closer to pregnant women, especially in rural and mountainous areas, and to improve maternal and child health indicators.
The total cost exceeds 4.6 million dirhams, funded by the INDH, the program for reducing territorial disparities, and the Ministry of Health.
The birth house includes three delivery rooms and a neonatal care unit, while the maternity home has four bedrooms, a kitchen, and offices.
A community health system was also launched in the two circles of Driouch, encouraging supervised childbirth and pregnancy follow-up, benefiting 70 douars through community mediators.
Officials emphasized the goal of zero maternal and neonatal deaths.
