Suspect arrested in killing of 40-year-old woman in Oujda

Officers of the judicial police in Oujda, in coordination with the national security services in Nador, arrested at dawn on Monday, September 7, a 58-year-old man suspected of killing a woman with a hunting rifle.
The arrest came after the discovery, Sunday evening in Oujda, of the body of a 40-year-old woman bearing marks of two gunshots, and ballistic tests showed that the shots came from a hunting rifle.
Investigations led to the identification of the suspect and his arrest in Nador as he was preparing to leave the national territory, and it turned out he is a Moroccan residing abroad.
Security officers found in his possession the casings of the two cartridges suspected of being used in the crime.
Preliminary data indicate that the suspect had a prior relationship with the victim and had met her Sunday evening in the El Jorf neighborhood in Oujda before the crime.
The suspect was placed in police custody as part of the investigation being conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office.
