Exceptional promotion for martyr Hamza El Zaam after his death in security operation in Al Hoceima

The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance announced an exceptional promotion for security officer Hamza El Zaam, who died as a martyr during a security operation in the Imzouren area, Al Hoceima province.
El Zaam, a member of the anti-gang brigade of the regional security of Al Hoceima, was supporting Royal Gendarmerie elements in an intervention to arrest a 25-year-old suspect, subject to 20 national search warrants for serious crimes such as drug trafficking, attempted murder, and forming a criminal gang.
The suspect violently resisted by firing a hunting rifle, fatally wounding El Zaam, who died while being transferred to hospital, and injuring a specialized technician.
Security forces controlled the situation and arrested the attacker, who is now under judicial investigation supervised by the prosecutor's office to uncover all circumstances.
