Morocco's National Institute of Geophysics recorded an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 on the Richter scale on Saturday morning in the province of Driouch.
The quake occurred in the Alboran Sea, 50 kilometers off the coast of the Oulad Amghar area, at a depth of 17 kilometers.
The institute located the epicenter at 35.7303 degrees north latitude and 3.608 degrees west longitude.
The tremor occurred at 4:23:03 a.m.
local time.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties were reported.
This quake is part of ongoing seismic activity in the region, which has experienced previous tremors of varying intensity.
