The port of Al Hoceima received on Tuesday the first sea voyages as part of Operation Marhaba 2026 for Moroccans residing abroad.
A ship from the port of Motril in southern Spain docked with 571 passengers and 147 vehicles on board.
The necessary measures have been taken to ensure the smooth running of the operation, in line with royal instructions to provide the best reception and support conditions for the diaspora.
The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity supervises the implementation of the operation in coordination with several sectors, including the maritime station administration, local authorities, national security, Royal Gendarmerie, customs, civil protection and health.
Passengers expressed satisfaction with the securing of the sea line between Motril and Al Hoceima, saying it facilitates their travel and reduces journey time.
The pace of crossings is expected to increase in the coming weeks with the peak of the summer season.
