Hanan Maaroufi enters legislative race in Al Hoceima with reconciliation message

Hanan Maaroufi, head of the Justice and Development Party list in Al Hoceima province, has filed her candidacy for the legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026.
She leads a list that includes Mohamed Afassi, Mohamed Sebai, and Karim Kaabaoui.
Her message focuses on the Rif Hirak file, calling for the release of remaining detainees and addressing the movement's aftermath to close a painful chapter in the region's history.
She stressed that a final solution requires a high-level political decision, asserting that trust lies only in the King.
She also called for public debates among candidates, arguing that elections should be based on programs and arguments rather than slogans.
Maaroufi aims to present herself as a candidate who brings the province's issues into political discourse and strengthens trust between citizens and institutions.
