The Constitutional Court annulled the result of the partial election held in September 2022 in the local constituency of Driouch, due to administrative errors in three polling stations.
These errors include the appointment of illiterate polling station members, discrepancies between voter lists and records, and lack of training for polling station heads.
The ruling cites polling stations No.
13 (Emhajer commune) and No.
27 and 28 (Imtalssa commune), where some members admitted to being illiterate.
Irregularities such as proxy voting without noting in the minutes and delegating tasks to candidate representatives were also recorded.
Although these errors did not affect the final outcome – the socialist candidate received 16,849 votes, far ahead of his rivals – the Court deemed that the voting was conducted contrary to the law, leading to its annulment.
