Morocco's National Institute of Geophysics announced two earthquakes in the provinces of Al Hoceima and Azilal.
Director Nasser Jabour said the first, magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale, was felt by residents at night in the commune of Arbaa Taourirt.
The second, magnitude 2.8, occurred Saturday morning in Azilal and was not felt.
Dozens of aftershocks below magnitude 2 were recorded.
Jabour stressed this activity falls within the region's geological nature, which experiences continuous seismic movement, and that felt tremors are expected.
Teams are monitoring the situation, with no damage reported.
