Touhtouh's allegations of money for candidacy await prosecutor's response

Touhtouh's allegations of money for candidacy await prosecutor's response
At a press conference held on Friday, September 4, in Nador, Mohammadi Touhtouh, a candidate of the Istiqlal Party in the Nador constituency, made serious allegations about an illegal sum of money being demanded in exchange for electoral candidacy, pointing fingers at officials from his former party (RNI) at the regional and provincial levels.
He also mentioned a discourse within party circles suggesting that electoral competition in the region requires a candidate with significant financial resources, referring to what he called "Moul Chkara".
These statements come weeks before the September 23 vote, and following the Public Prosecutor's Office's call for mobilization to ensure electoral integrity.
Questions arise as to whether the prosecutor will hear Touhtouh to verify his claims, especially since Moroccan law tightens penalties against financial influence on voters.
