Nador Prison Administration Denies Torture of Inmate, Clarifies Death Circumstances

The administration of the local prison in Nador denied, in an official statement, allegations published by a website about the death of an inmate due to torture.
It clarified that the pretrial detainee (M.Ch.) was imprisoned on August 13 on charges of violence against ascendants and showed signs of psychological disturbance.
He was examined by the prison doctor on the 19th and then transferred to the psychiatric hospital in Al Aroui.
The next day, he suffered a sudden health crisis and died on the way to the hospital.
The administration affirmed that the inmate did not undergo any physical assault and that the situation inside the prison is normal.
It also mentioned that the inmate's father visited him on the 18th, but the inmate refused to meet him, and an official report was filed.
The administration had previously filed two complaints against the website for publishing such false claims.
