A traffic accident on the national road between Al Hoceima and Nador foiled an attempt to smuggle hard drugs.
The accident, a collision between a motorcycle and a car, led gendarmes from Imzouren to discover 1.2 kg of cocaine hidden on the motorcyclist.
The suspect, from Beni Bouayach, is known to security services.
Injured, he was taken to hospital.
A judicial investigation has been opened to determine the origin of the shipment and identify any accomplices.
