After 9 years of delay, launch of new development plan for Marchica lagoon
The project for the new development plan for the Marchica lagoon has returned to the forefront after nine years of waiting, during a meeting chaired by the governor of Nador province, Jamal Chaarani, with the presence of the presidents of the communes of Nador, Beni Ensar, Arekmane and Bouarg, and the director of the Marchica Agency, Loubna Bentalb.
The meeting discussed the plan to launch the project, with emphasis on involving citizens and civil society in developing the final plan, through a 30-day public display in the headquarters of the communes bordering the lagoon.
The project gives importance to environmental and development criteria to ensure the sustainability of the lagoon's natural resources.
The governor affirmed his personal commitment to follow up on the project, considering it the cornerstone of the province's development vision.
The plan is expected to include facilities for cultural, environmental and recreational activities, as well as the organization of pedestrian paths and rest areas, ensuring a balance between environmental protection and social needs.
