Tomato crisis relief expected from November

The president of the local agriculture and fisheries union of Zaghouan, Mohamed Bousbia, expects a gradual easing of the tomato crisis as winter production reaches markets in early November.
That output should improve supply and provide additional volumes.
He noted that the current season saw a sharp drop in tomato and pepper production due to the heatwave, water shortages and power cuts, with an estimated shortfall of around 70 percent.
