The Nador West Med port project has entered a new phase with the arrival of the first batches of containers at its quays, a sign of progress in preparations for actual operation.
A container ship was seen in the harbour basins manoeuvring with the help of tugboats, as the first containers appeared on site.
This development follows progress in infrastructure and port and logistics equipment.
The arrival does not mean the start of full commercial operation, but marks a stage within the tests and logistical preparations.
The port is expected to strengthen Morocco's port infrastructure and the Oriental region's position in trade and maritime transport networks.
