The new school year in the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region saw about 1.039 million pupils enrol in various institutions, nearly 34 % of them from rural areas.
The enrolment rate reached 93 % after a gradual start, with more than 34,000 teachers, including some 1,882 new graduates.
The education offer was strengthened by 16 new institutions and three boarding schools, cutting the share of overcrowded classes from 5 % to 3 %, while the pioneering-schools model expanded to 907 structures.
Around eight thousand pupils were also brought back to school as part of efforts against dropout.
