Selouane council member reports secret land plots to governor

A member of the Selouane communal council has written to the governor of Nador province to flag what he describes as manipulations, namely the creation of two secret land subdivisions within the municipality, the first in the Derdara neighbourhood and the second in the area east of the multidisciplinary faculty.
The complainant denounces a form of circumvention that encourages the emergence of unplanned neighbourhoods under the guise of what he calls fictitious subdivisions, amid a lack of strict oversight of unauthorised construction, which he says has grown markedly under the current council.
The move raises questions about urban planning and building control in Selouane, as residents call for greater transparency in how the area is managed.
