Stone-throwing on Nador roads raises safety concerns

Roads in Nador province are seeing repeated incidents of stones being thrown at moving vehicles, behaviour that threatens the safety of drivers and passengers.
In May 2026, a driver reported that his car was pelted with stones on the ring road between the Sidi Salem area and the Azghanghan road while travelling with his mother.
Years earlier, a similar case was reported near Bni Chiker, where a driver said unknown individuals threw stones at his vehicle in circumstances he believed were meant to force him to stop, causing material damage.
The time gap between the two cases makes it impossible to link them to a single network without precise security data.
The shared risk remains real, however: a single stone can cause a driver to lose control within seconds, especially on mountain or ring roads, turning the incident into a potentially fatal crash.
