Tunisia: Parents Demand School Bus Stop in Henainia

Parents of pupils in Henainia, in the Nador delegation of Tunisia's Zaghouan governorate, are demanding an extension of the school bus line and a new stop to ease the plight of about fifty students, two of them with disabilities.
According to the families, the children walk nearly four kilometres along rugged tracks and across riverbeds to reach the current stop, heightening the risks, especially when it rains and the wadis flood.
The parents say they are ready to provide and prepare a plot of land so the bus can turn around and park, and state that they have filed official requests since 2024 without success.
A local MP points to coordination efforts with the transport ministry and the Nabeul regional transport company to boost the fleet and recruit drivers.
