Al Omrane widens access to 140,000-dirham housing

The Al Omrane group has announced it is widening the pool of beneficiaries for its low-cost housing programmes priced at 140,000 dirhams.
From now on, any citizen whose monthly income does not exceed twice the minimum wage can buy such a home, provided they live in the municipality or city where the project is located and do not already own property.
This means people able to prove a monthly income below 5,600 dirhams can purchase an apartment in the Selouane projects in Nador province, opening the door to a middle class that struggles to access housing.
The move falls under the 2012 finance law and aims to give limited-income families decent housing while continuing agreements to rehouse slum dwellers.
