The first-instance court in Al Hoceima convicted a wife who expelled her husband from the marital home, sentencing her to two months in prison, a 2,000-dirham fine and equivalent compensation for the husband.
The incident dates back to March, when the man filed a complaint with the public prosecutor after being thrown out.
The Al Hoceima appeals court upheld on 17 September the first-instance ruling issued on 14 April 2026.
The wife may still appeal to the Court of Cassation, a procedure requiring a 3,000-dirham fee.
