A small private aircraft crashed on Sunday evening near the outer wall of Cherif El Idrissi airport in Al Hoceima, minutes after take-off, killing the two people on board.
The victims are believed to be French nationals, likely a couple, pending official confirmation.
Civil protection, the Royal Gendarmerie, ambulances and local authorities quickly reached the scene and began a technical examination of the wreckage to determine the cause.
The bodies were taken to the provincial hospital morgue for autopsy.
