As part of the restructuring of the Royal Gendarmerie services in the Nador region, a new commander has been appointed to head the Selouane centre, succeeding his predecessor.
The handover took place on Wednesday, 6 October.
The previous head, who led the centre for six months, is moving to the Rachidia region.
During his tenure, operations were carried out against international drug trafficking networks and criminal gangs in the Selouane, Bouarg and Arkmane area.
The new commander, an adjutant, gained experience heading the Outat El Haj centre.
The appointment is part of efforts to strengthen security in the area.
