West Med Container Terminal (WMCT), a subsidiary of Marsa Maroc and TIL and concessionaire of the eastern terminal of the Nador West Med port, has announced the completion of the terminal's operational readiness and confirmed its capacity to receive and handle its first commercial vessels.
According to a statement, this preparation was finalised ahead of the initial schedule and covered development works, the delivery and installation of equipment, the implementation of systems and operating procedures, as well as the recruitment and training of teams.
To test these means under real conditions, the terminal received a vessel as part of a trial berthing, which verified the smooth running of operations and the level of coordination.
The company stresses that this success strengthens the port's position as a strategic platform in the Mediterranean and its ability to receive the world's largest container ships.
