Health unionists in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima launch social season with protest

The regional bureau of the National Public Health Union, part of the Democratic Labour Federation in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, has decided to hold a regional protest on Thursday, 1 October 2026, outside the general directorate of the territorial health grouping in Tangier, one year after the grouping was launched.
The decision followed an ordinary meeting held on Saturday, 12 September, in Chefchaouen that lasted nearly six hours.
Protesters are demanding a permanent and fair performance bonus, settlement of outstanding financial and administrative dues, faster recruitment, an organised transfer round, fixes to shortcomings in health provision and rejection of outsourcing health services.
The bureau noted a gap between promises and the real impact on health professionals and care quality, warning of persistent shortages of staff, equipment and medicines.
