Judicial police in Oujda, working with national security services in Nador, arrested a 58-year-old man suspected of killing a 40-year-old woman with a hunting rifle.
The victim's body, bearing two gunshot wounds that ballistics confirmed came from a hunting rifle, was found on Sunday evening in Oujda.
Investigators identified the suspect, a Moroccan national residing abroad, and arrested him in Nador as he prepared to leave the country, with two spent cartridges in his possession.
Initial findings point to a prior relationship and a meeting on Sunday evening in the Jorf district, while the motive is still being established under prosecutors' supervision.
