Magnitude 4 earthquake strikes Driouch province
An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale was recorded in Driouch province in northeastern Morocco, according to the National Seismic Monitoring and Warning Network.
The epicentre was located off the province's coast at a depth of about 24 kilometres, at the intersection of 35.655 degrees north and 3.517 degrees west.
No human or material damage was immediately reported.
The eastern Rif region lies in an active seismic zone where tremors of varying strength occur periodically.
