Drinking water supply to the centre of Soulane and the Ikounaf neighbourhood in Nador was cut off on Friday 27 September 2024, from midday until midnight.
The relevant services attributed the outage to the deterioration of raw water quality in the main supply conduit, which required pumping to be halted temporarily.
The incident brings back to the fore the quality of water resources and the effectiveness of supply networks in the area, against the backdrop of rapid population and urban growth in Soulane and its surroundings.
