Health workers in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima announce October 1 protest
The regional office of the National Union of Public Health, part of the Democratic Labour Federation, has decided to hold a regional protest on Thursday, October 1, 2026, outside the general directorate of the territorial health grouping in Tangier.
The action coincides with the first anniversary of the launch of the grouping in the region.
The decision followed an ordinary meeting in Chefchaouen that lasted about six hours.
Demands include a permanent and fair performance bonus, payment of outstanding financial and administrative dues, faster recruitment, organised transfers and fixing gaps in health services.
The office also rejects outsourcing and the transfer of health services, as well as pressure on union activity.
It points to a gap between promises and actual results, citing shortages of staff, equipment and medicines, and criticises delays in scheduling professional exams.
Free training sessions and a regional evaluation conference are planned, with a third regional council session set for November 14 in Tangier.
