A central inspection team from the General Inspectorate of Territorial Administration at the Interior Ministry visited Azghanghan in Nador province to audit files on urban planning and housing subdivisions.
The mission follows a request by the provincial governor, after preliminary reports by a mixed provincial committee that had already visited the municipality.
It involves reviewing administrative documents and meeting officials and staff to prepare a detailed report for central services.
The mission is expected to last about a week.
Some files are suspected of links to illegal land subdivisions and the issuing of housing certificates under questionable conditions.
