Driouch residents call for national ID service in the province

Residents of Driouch province are calling for a dedicated office to issue and renew national identity cards locally, to avoid long journeys to Nador.
They complain of overcrowding and long queues at temporary counters set up by a caravan of the General Directorate of National Security, where waiting times can stretch to a full day.
A civil-society activist from Ibn Tayeb commune notes that the province was created more than ten years ago, yet most public services in health, administration and justice remain attached to the Nador prefecture.
Renewing the card forces residents to travel and wait for hours, requiring urgent action, especially for the elderly and chronically ill, in a province of more than 211,000 people.
