The public prosecutor at the Al Hoceima appeal court detailed a police operation carried out on 7 September that left one police officer dead and injured two gendarmes and a civilian, while a wanted suspect was wounded by gunfire.
Judicial police were attempting to arrest the suspect, wanted nationwide for hard drug trafficking, forming a criminal gang, organising irregular migration and attempted murder.
The man fired a hunting rifle at officers before being wounded in the leg and arrested along with two other people.
A weapon and a drone were seized, and the prosecutor denied accounts circulating on social media.
