The investigation into the death of a police officer during a security raid in Imzouren has extended to Nador province after links were uncovered between the main suspect and networks active in hard drug trafficking.
The development reopened the file of the "Selouane villa", from which a prominent wanted man escaped months ago during an operation.
According to the information, Nador police, joined by officers from the National Judicial Police Brigade, reopened the details of the case, particularly the ownership of the villa and the documents that surfaced after the earlier raid.
The owner, a local elected official, his brother and a municipal employee in the signature-certification department were summoned, with the employee placed in police custody.
The case remains at the investigation stage and the presumption of innocence applies to all those involved.
