The criminal chamber of the Targuist court has sentenced two detained men to seven years in prison and a fine of 20,000 dirhams each, after the seizure of a truck carrying more than six tonnes of cannabis resin, a quantity of hard drugs and three motorised rubber boats.
The ruling orders the destruction of the seized drugs and the confiscation of cash, phones and equipment for the benefit of the state, while the truck is returned to its legal owner.
The defendants must also pay the customs administration a joint civil compensation of more than 207 million dirhams, plus compensation equal to the truck's value.
