The National Railway Office has launched a tender for earthworks and technical structures for the rail link project between the commune of Selouane and the Nador West Med port, with a budget of around 504 million dirhams and a 24-month completion deadline.
The new line extends 52 kilometres on a single track, with speeds of up to 160 km/h, and includes the construction of three road bridges and two railway bridges.
The project aims to strengthen the connection between the port and the national rail network and support logistics transport and the local economy, alongside the completion of the port, which is expected to receive its first ship in mid-2026.
