The Independent Nurses' Union has warned of an acute shortage of essential medicines, medical supplies and equipment in several health facilities in the Al Hoceima province, including the Mohammed VI Regional Hospital in Ajdir, the proximity hospitals of Al Hoceima and Targuist and several health centres.
According to a statement from its provincial branch, the shortage is no longer limited to supply and is affecting the normal operation of facilities and the conditions in which patients receive care.
The union questioned the management of the handover of supervision to the territorial health grouping and called for urgent action and a mechanism to guarantee continuity of supply, saying it is ready to take legal protest action.
